Indian propaganda about border terrorism and Bangladesh deploying drones in the border.
Propaganda description: Several Indian mainstream media and news outlets are saying that Bangladesh has deployed Bayraktar TB2 drones in the Bangladesh-India borders. This news was published on outlets like India.com, IndiaToday, Republic World, NewsBytes, OneIndia, News9Live, Northeast News, Swarajya Mag etc. IndiaToday even went berserk by claiming "terrorist activities increased along border".What really happened:Bangladesh has not deployed any drones outside of it’s routined activity as India is claiming. This is what the Press wing factchecking of GOB had to say, “This is false and fabricated news. A defense ministry spokesman said: ‘Bangladesh not deployed any drones, apart from its routine activities, in any part of the country. This news is part of an orchestrated campaign against Bangladesh.”
It seems like India’s media which is highly controlled by the government is trying to increase the already high tensions between India and Bangladesh through these fake news.
Even though IndiaToday claimed there was an increased terrorist activities. But they couldn’t show any proof of that. On Bangladesh’s side of the border, there was not a single terrorist activity or any increase of such. On the otherhand, we saw ISKCON members and Chinmoy Das’s followers hacking a lawyer to death in the courtyard of Chittagong court. Bangladeshis believe this happened because of Indian media fueling tensions in the country. We also saw Indians vandalizing the Assistant High Commission of Bangladesh in Agartala, India. We also saw BJP politicians like Shuvendu staging protests in the Benapol-Petrapol border of India and Bangladesh and threatening to stop all trades through the road. So, if there is any increase in terrorist activities that’s on the Indian side of the border.
